Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Obsidian is one of those books I've heard amazing things about.  So yes, my expectations were pretty high.  But I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed one bit!  I absolutely adored Obsidian, and I'm so excited to continue on with this series.  The characters were strong and realistic.  The story was intense and gripping, especially the climax (which had me gripping my Kindle so tightly I actually had to remind myself to relax my hands.)  Though the story line may be similar to other paranormal romances, such as Twilight, I thought it was plenty unique enough and extremely enjoyable.  Armentrout's writing style is one I really adore.  I honestly couldn't put this book down, and I finished it much quicker than I finish most books.

Oh, how I loved to hate Deamon.  He got on my nerves so much.  He was so arrogant and cocky.  I loved how Katy hated him immensely, yet was so drawn to him.  It made the love/hate relationship that much more realistic.  The connection between them was one I'm sure many of us could only dream about.  The passion and insane emotion they felt toward each other, hate one minute, love the next, was so intense.  I've never wanted to strangle a character that I loved the page before.  This book really had me hooked.  I would definitely recommend Obsidian.  I have book two, Onyx, already and I can't wait to jump right in! :)
