Waiting on Wednesday: Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: Tears of Tess
Author: Pepper Winters
Exp. Pub.: September 2013

“My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect.
Then it all changed.
I was sold.”

Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.

For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches, delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart, and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.
But lusty paradise is shattered.

Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.

Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can’t save her from the horror of being sold.

Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life forever?

Why I'm Waiting:  I have to admit, I saw this on Nereyda @ Mostly YA Book Obsessed's WoW post last week... and instantly I knew I had to have it!!  Now the wait until September begins...

  8. WOW. This one sounds intense. I haven't seen a book like this one in YA yet! Of course, I'v never gone looking. Books like these often make me cry, and I don't read with the intention of crying. When you read this one, I hope you enjoy it! I'll be looking for your review :)

  13. Yay!!! So happy this is your pick! I love dark books and it makes me happy to see more people reading them. I love that ‘holy shit, I don’t know if I should be scared right now or fascinated’ feeling I get with these books. I know you liked Killing Sarai (I loved it too!) so if you like this one you might want to give Captive in the Dark a try. Don’t be scared!

  17. *cringes* I'm not sure I could stomach this book. I liked Stolen by Lucy Christopher, though, so I might have to keep an open mind and give this one a try. Thanks for sharing!
