it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.
Holy crap!!! Okay... I need a little time to process all of this...
(Several Days Later:)
Okay. I'm back and ready to attempt to put my feelings regarding this book into words. Once again, as with Shatter Me, I decided to go the audiobook route. And wow... I don't know if that has anything to do with my love for this series, but I think it must play a part. Kate Simses as narrator is just perfect. She's impeccable as Juliette. The raw emotion, total utter confusion, and pure hatred Juliette possesses throughout this series is shown incredibly through Kate's performance in this audiobook.
As far as the story itself, Mafi has an incredible mind. The way she puts things into words is simply amazing. I was blown away completely with this story. As with Shatter Me, it's intense and gripping from the beginning to end. In Unravel Me, sooooo many things are revealed, it's almost mind-blowing! Things about Juliette, about Adam, and mostly about Warner.
I wasn't a huge Adam fan in Shatter Me, so I had trouble really relating to the relationship between Adam and Juliette. I just didn't feel it. As far as Warner... okay, yeah, so he's evil and all... but after reading Destroy Me it really helped me see that my initial feelings about him were right, and that he DOES have an ability to love, and hopefully learn how to be a better person in the future. But I have to say as far as favorite characters go in general... I'm totally for Kenji! Yeah, he's a total smart ass, pompus and annoying as all hell... but I think he's adorable. Maybe it's because he reminds me of a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless ;)) or maybe it's just that his character is spot-on, but he's my fave for sure. Way to go, Kenji!
I'm trying hard not to make this a completely gush-overloaded review, but I'm having some difficulty. If you haven't started this series yet, please, do yourself a favor and read it. I would absolutely recommend the audiobook. I can't believe I finished it so quickly and now I have to wait forever what seems like forever until the next book in the series is released.

Kenji is the BEST <3 He really made this book for me. And I think you did a pretty good job keeping the gushing to a minimum haha. Lovely review!
ReplyDeleteI was a HUGE fan of Shatter Me. I'm glad to see that book two doesn't suffer from "second book" syndrome. I've never been able to go the audiobook route, so I'm a little bit jealous of those who are able ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful review. I have heard nothing but good things about this book. I am going to have to start this series soon.
ReplyDeleteI never shipped Adam and Juliette either. :) And I admit, Kenji really grew on me in this book. I don't think I love him as much as you, though. :P Glad you loved the audio, too. I loved Kate Simses as the narrator, too....much more than the Matched series. :)
ReplyDeletei am a team adam..really don't like warner..
ReplyDeletebut thx 4 ur review :)
